She's JAFFA

Missy...my friend from TGHS!!! Ditched me last year to move back to Auckland with her family....she was too cool.
I think she deserves a page on my blog.

Remember when....
  • We snuck Ben into the hostel through the bathroom window and you filmed it?
  • And when he put my school uniform on and we took pictures?
  • And taking photo's of your freakishly long tongue
  • And the plans to flat together in Dunedin
  • Going to the movies and I tricked you about what type it was (District 9)
  • Me hiding around the corner and scaring you
  • Gettin drunk in the hostel
  • Sticking your CRAZY fringe up (without gel)
  • Doing crazy things around the hostel!!!
Missy....my dear friend....
"Where'd you go? I miss you so...feels like its been forever, since you've been home"

There's No Place Like Home

My father at home in our garage with Phillipa Watson (cutting up a mutton/beef)

Well as of recently I have started to become homesick....this is kinda weird for me because I'm not really the kinda person to miss home....especially considering my past and the relationship I have with my mum. Its sad really, I do regret all the fights we've had, when I see some of my friends with their mothers and the relationship they have....I think "why couldn't we be like that?" and in my mind it's too late to build that relationship.

It doesn't help that my mum and I are on different wave-lengths ALL THE TIME! Making it near impossible to see eye to eye on certain topics. My parents know exactly what I do and so on and so on... but they don't really take an interest in it. If I wanna go to a party while I was at home all I have to say is where I'm going to be. And now that I have moved out, I'm even more independant and they realise that there's not much they can do about the stuff I do.
I guess the things I miss about home is...
  • Mums Cafe/Cooking
  • My dad and his awesome (lazy) dinners
  • Dad's 'funny' jokes when guy mates call
  • The beach
  • Getting paua/kina in town
  • Chatting with anyone at the cafe
  • Driving without a license!
  • Staying with people for days on end
  • Play-fighting with my little brother
(Aunty Irene at home ---> )

Things I don't miss...
  • The awkwardness when someone you don't like is around you (and you have nowhere to go!)
  • Having nothing to do because it's a sunday and EVERTHING is closed
  • The slow dial-up internet
  • The expensive prices of junk food (or food in particular)
  • The scratched dvd's from Jade's
  • The windy days
I wanna go home =]

Procrastinating...

Reader's will remember that I made a plan to get fit again (about a month ago)....

Well so far I am failing at this.

I havn't cut down on drinking chocolate milk (in the slightest bit)
I havn't been going for runs =S
And I havn't been going to the grocery store, therefore im low on food..including vegies and fruit!!!

The only positive thing I've accomplished...I've swapped Coco-Pops for Light 'n' Tasty!!!

I need some motivation....hopefully next week I can sort it all out..stay posted xox

Love is...

Today Ben and I went into Whitcouls to buy a road code, and while Ben was doing that, I found a cute little book about the size of a post-it note. The title was "Love is" by Kim Casali.

I thought this book had some very relevant points...something like...

Great weekend & mothers day

This weekend, Ben came down to Dunedin. He arrived on Thursday night and went home today.
This weekend was great! We didn't do alot...but I still had fun.
On Friday I had to make up my mind whether or not I wanted to go to course. We were having an Amazing Race day so no school work had to be done...in the end, I decided to go. When I came home Ben was playing a new game he bought for my laptop.
We had a little talk, and I found out he had gone to see Michaela that day... Michaela is a girl who use to like Ben (or still does) and told him she saw me kissing another guy in town (LIES!). So if you havn't guessed...I really don't like her.
Anyway I ended up getting grumpy at Ben because of her, and I kept tryin to tell myself not to be grumpy, but it wouldn't work. So I told him I was going for a walk. He insisted on coming, but I rather he didn't just so I could think to myself. He ended up coming, and I got grumpy at him even more.
Thankfully we sorted it out (not that there was much to sort out). He managed to get me to tell him what was wrong and he assured me everything was ok and I was well within my rights to  not like or trust Michaela. We ended up going out for dinner at the Great Taste...(all you can eat buffet). Afterwards we went to his older sisters flat to catch up. We all watched a movie, then Ben went downstairs to talk to Tereinamu (his sisters flatmate/his friend) and left me to talk with his sister (Stacey) and her boyfriend Stuart. Stacey's nice, we talked about random stuff...and now we're going to Eclipse together (June 30th).
Saturday came along and we did NOTHING!!! We stayed in bed all day and I mean ALL DAY... we got up at 5 when I went to cook dinner before he went to a Games night with some old friends. Ben didn't get home til 1.30!!! He gladly woke me up and had trouble getting back to sleep.

But today... Today was good. We chilled in bed for the morning...had an amazingly long shower and talk and then mished it to town to buy his mum a mothers day present. He bought her a beautiful bunch of flowers and a cute card. She's coming around tonight to pick them up since she couldn't make it to town while Ben was here.

Now since it's mother's day... I called my mum...Yes instead of leaving it for a week late...I called on time!!!
It was a rather boring convo really...nothing had been happening... But dad on the other hand...No longer needs a hip replacement (his first doctor was wrong, the specialist said that it wasn't the problem and the intial problem had healed itself). AND!!! his Hernia will be seen to in 6 months or so.... My dad is on his way to being a healthier man! GO DAD!

Check 'Em Out!

Check these guys out. They're a group from Hawaii and were recently on the "Good Morning Show".
