A New Bed In A Shack!

So I went to Ben's for the weekend as usual...However it wasn't really the best time I've had there.

Ben doesn't like it on the farm that he was on, so he resigned and his last day was on Monday, but he got his dates mixed up and thought it was on Sunday!!!
So Friday night we got a phone call from his dad (Chris) to tell Ben what new furniture he would need to buy before he moved in on Sunday. The next day rolled around and I was happily enjoying my sleep-in until I got woken up by my phone, it was Chris calling!!! I thought he would want to talk to Ben, but no. He asked if I wanted to go into town to buy Ben a new bed as that was what he needed in the house. Ben was at work so I didn't really have a choice.

I rushed out of bed to have my breakfast and shower because I thought Chris would be there any second...but ohhhhh no, he took his time hahaha. Around 11am he pulled up the drive and we headed into town with Alex (Ben's 10 yr old brother). Chris had 2 bed's on hold...A second hand double bed for $350 and a queen bed from the warehouse for $450. Chris had left it up to me to make the decision on which bed to buy, seen as I spend most of my time at Ben's. I didn't really like the idea of sleeping on a USED bed, and it was only a double...It's hard enough to get enough room in my Queen with Ben in it. So it was off to the warehouse to buy the new cheap bed. I had to fork out $400 while Chris paid the extra $50....so Ben owes us haha.

The bed isn't the comfiest of bed's but it will do. Chris and I dropped the bed off that night and I went back to Ben's to find a grumpy boyfriend. He absolutely hates the workers on the farm that he was on...And one of them had wasted Ben's time that day so he wasn't the happiest person out there. I managed to get a smile out of him though....although no enthusiasm to pack up his stuff.

Sunday came and Ben got back from his morning shift and asked me what the date was...
"The 27th" I said. Then he clicked he had his days mucked up and still had work the next day. Luckily for him, his boss thought the same as him and didn't expect him to work on Monday, so we were ready to pack and clean up the nice house...to move to a tiny little shack.
Next weekend I'm going to take photo's of this place and post them, just so you can see what Ben expects me to live in next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUTTERFLIES!!! and happiness?! (part 2)

Ok continuing on...
The same week Ben was here for his break off work, we went to his Mum's place for dinner. I left course early to get home in time to change out of my uniform and drag Ben out of bed. She picked us up pretty much right on time.

We then went to pick Ben's little sister (Kate) up from kindy. She's so cute. She was really shy of me and Ben to begin with, Ben tried so hard to be nice and get her to soften up to him...But he nearly failed.
We then had to pick his little brother (Nicholas) up from one of his friends house...Once that was done...we were off to see the new house Paula (Ben's mum) and Dave (Ben's step-dad) were building. It looked like it was going to be really nice once it's finished. It reminded me of when the Cafe at home was getting built...
Paula was so excited to show us where everything was going to go. She was pretty much jumping round excitedly pointing to where the kitchen would be, the dining area and of course the enormouspantry =]

Once that was done, we went to her house. The first time I met Ben's family, was when I came to Dunedin to sit my entry test for course. I stayed for dinner that night and I was terrified. It was just the usual "What if they don't like me?" "What if I do something wrong or say something bad?". It was scary but I warmed up to them pretty soon and they were all really nice to me. This dinner was no different.

Ben and I spent the afternoon playing with the kids. I helped Kate do jig-saw puzzles and played Pokemon with Ben and Nicholas...I didn't really understand that game so I opted to play with Kate instead. She wasn't shy around me anymore. She was non-stop talking to me and even asked me to pick her up a few times. That night Ben told me he was kind of jealous how easily Kate warmed up to me and not so much him!

Paula cooked a delicious roast! I hadn't had one since before I left home, I'd been dying for one for ages...so it was like my dreams had come true. This year I've become a huge fan of veges, Paula's silver beet and roast veges were no exception.

Dinner was great, and all through the night, Paula was giving me all these reasons of why she liked me (so I feel pretty comfortable around Ben's family now...including his dad's side - but that's another story). At the end of the night, Paula dropped us off at my place and we thanked her for a yummy dinner. I had fun, and I know Ben did too....now if only he could remember to let his family know he was in Dunedin more often!

BUTTERFLIES!!! and happiness?! (part 1)

Ok so about 2 weeks ago Ben came down to Dunedin for a weeks holiday. It was so full on, he was here for a week, then I went home with him for the weekend...missed the bus on the Sunday and didn't get home til Wednesday (last week)...AND then, the next day Ben came down and went home Lastnight!!!!
So it's been a crazy time...Spending so much time with him has definitely opened my eyes and helped me learn even more about him.

In this post I'm just going to write about a really good day we had. It was the Friday after Ben arrived, I took the day off course and Ben and I just lazed around in bed. Around lunch time we decided it was time to get out of bed and do something!!! So we went to Mojo's Cafe in the mall and had lunch...a very yummy lunch i might add. He then took me to Bra's n Things (my favourite shop!) and took me shopping!!! I was so happy! And we made our way to the movies to see what was on. We came to the conclusion we would see Prince of Persia later that night. From there we started walking down the main road to Otago Museum where we could visit the Tropical House of BUTTERFLIES!!!! <---(Link to a site about them)

It was so hot, but we saw so many beautiful butterflies and birds and even turtles and turantulas!!!!! -creepy-
After seeing the butterflies (that I'd been dying to see ever since I first came to Dunedin) we thought we would look around the museum some more... MORE PHOTOS!!!

-Ben and some trippy lights-

-Ben and a stuffed monkey?-

-The next crocodile hunter?-

Afterwards we went to the botanicle gardens but didn't stay for long as it was already around 5pm. We fed the ducks...which was soooo funny because they were stealing all the feed!!! And afterwards, made a mission walk back home.

I had so much fun...stay posted for more parts to this post!!!!
