BUTTERFLIES!!! and happiness?! (part 2)

Ok continuing on...
The same week Ben was here for his break off work, we went to his Mum's place for dinner. I left course early to get home in time to change out of my uniform and drag Ben out of bed. She picked us up pretty much right on time.

We then went to pick Ben's little sister (Kate) up from kindy. She's so cute. She was really shy of me and Ben to begin with, Ben tried so hard to be nice and get her to soften up to him...But he nearly failed.
We then had to pick his little brother (Nicholas) up from one of his friends house...Once that was done...we were off to see the new house Paula (Ben's mum) and Dave (Ben's step-dad) were building. It looked like it was going to be really nice once it's finished. It reminded me of when the Cafe at home was getting built...
Paula was so excited to show us where everything was going to go. She was pretty much jumping round excitedly pointing to where the kitchen would be, the dining area and of course the enormouspantry =]

Once that was done, we went to her house. The first time I met Ben's family, was when I came to Dunedin to sit my entry test for course. I stayed for dinner that night and I was terrified. It was just the usual "What if they don't like me?" "What if I do something wrong or say something bad?". It was scary but I warmed up to them pretty soon and they were all really nice to me. This dinner was no different.

Ben and I spent the afternoon playing with the kids. I helped Kate do jig-saw puzzles and played Pokemon with Ben and Nicholas...I didn't really understand that game so I opted to play with Kate instead. She wasn't shy around me anymore. She was non-stop talking to me and even asked me to pick her up a few times. That night Ben told me he was kind of jealous how easily Kate warmed up to me and not so much him!

Paula cooked a delicious roast! I hadn't had one since before I left home, I'd been dying for one for ages...so it was like my dreams had come true. This year I've become a huge fan of veges, Paula's silver beet and roast veges were no exception.

Dinner was great, and all through the night, Paula was giving me all these reasons of why she liked me (so I feel pretty comfortable around Ben's family now...including his dad's side - but that's another story). At the end of the night, Paula dropped us off at my place and we thanked her for a yummy dinner. I had fun, and I know Ben did too....now if only he could remember to let his family know he was in Dunedin more often!
