Hi readers!
I have some pretty amazing news... hehe
So in May, I did 2 days work experience at House Of Travel (NZ travel agency) because being a travel consultant is my DREAM job! I mean, who doesn't wanna travel the world for free????
Yesterday afternoon while sitting in class, my campus manager came in and said he had some news for us... H.O.T had 2 weeks work experience coming up for 2 lucky students (1 week each)....This was so cool, because it was more indepth work experience...Not just sitting with Consultants but actually learning the ropes. Even BETTER news.... I got one of the spots...HOT had requested me to go and learn from them!
The best part of this though...Is the fact that this is going to be like one big long interview. And the end of the work experience, they might offer me a full time job as a travel agent!!!! BEFORE I GRADTUATE!!!
I would be amazingly lucky if I got the job offer! Not being fully qualified and all... Of course this would mean I would still need to be doing some learning (through corrospondence I suppose)...But at least I will be getting paid at the same time.
So I called Ben lastnight and told him about it, and explained that if I took the job, I wouldn't be able to move in with him next year (he lives about an hour and a half out of Dunedin for those who don't know). He got angry at me because I hesitated in deciding what I would do...Take the work experience and go for the job....or move in with Ben and find a job at another travel agency... WHAT TO DO!!!???
Ben makes me so so so happy. I don't enjoy living in Dunedin anymore. I feel miserable and lonely. I'm pretty much a broke student and can't afford to do anything, and before you suggest friends (which I do have btw) we don't exactly hang out outside of course. Ben is what reminds me of why I'm here. He helped me get into the course and start working towards my long term goal. I want nothing more than to make him (and my family) proud of me. I told him that I was looking forward to living with him, I wouldn't have to feel so alone anymore. Which was a main reason of why I hesitated accepting the work experience.
But he pretty much bashed it into my head and reminded me that he never really has chosen me over work and if I was to do that to him, it's a one way guilt trip on him. He assured me nothing would change between us and everything would be ok, What were the chances I would get another chance like this right???
So after a few tears and hair pulling, I made up my mind, and walked confidently into course this morning and told my campus manager I would do the work experience!!!
BRING IT ON! Is all I can tell myself at the moment...
Stay posted to find out more about this amazing opportunity!

What to buy...
Ok, I have this idea...to buy my boyfriend a slaves (I.D) bracelet...I bought one for him about a year ago and he loved it, unfortunately...he lost it around the time we broke up in December. It cost me about $200 (including engraving) so I was a little annoyed. But I think theyr such awesome presents!!!
I then considered that instead of buying him yet another one that he could lose...why not a Greenstone necklace??? But, his ex-girlfriend bought him one and he doesnt wear it anymore...would it be a bit odd to buy him one from me?
AND THEN.... there was one day when I was wasting time in the mall, and I looked at some watches....unfortunately not in my price range...
So readers.... What could be the PERFECT present for my boyfriend who is constantly spoiling ME!???
Dear Long Lost Friend...
Dear Long Lost Friend,
I feel we have not had a proper chat in so so long! I remember when we would stay up til the early hours of the morning and would be so close to running out of things to say (or the energy to say it)...but we still forced something out of our mouths, even if it was just one word.
I remember getting scared in your little caravan (stupid possums!) and even the rats and locking the dog inside to catch them!!!
I remember eating 1-2 tubs of Goody Goody Gum Drop Ice-Cream in your mums bed all day long, with the electric blanket on and movies playing constantly.
I remember our families having dinner together at least EVERY Friday/Sunday Night!!! And your mum's delicious Caramel Dumplings!
Hehehe I even rememeber the fun games we use to play, like pretending our mountain bikes were Cars (mine was a VW) and being Water Babies in the swimming pool. Speaking of bikes, I remember the mission to bike to Jackies for junk food and DVD's. I remember playing Barbies all day, dressing the teddie bears in clothes (even the dog got dressed up a couple of times) and when we were introduced to Bratz, well... they ruled our life for a wee while there.
My dearest friend... I wish we could reminice together, instead alone infront of a computer...
It's really not that fair.
I guess, I am just writing this letter to say.. I Miss You!
I've missed you ever since I was shipped off on that lil old plane to highschool without you....I missed you even more when you took that big leap to Aussie and I missed you even MORE when I saw how much fun your having without me...and how lonely it makes me feel... But I know nothing can beat what we have and have shared... I still love you, you're still my sister...and that can't change.
All my aroha to you and your new life....Best wishes...Take Care..

Queenstown 2010
For those of you who don't know, I study Tourism at The Sir George Seymour College of Tourism & Travel. Part of this, is going on famils (Familarisation Trips) which is basically feild trips in course. On Monday we had our first one which was a 3 day trip to Queenstown. There were 41 students and 3 tutors who all got on a bus and made the journey through Central Otago to the Tourism Centre of the South Island.
DAY ONE
I woke up and had a mad rush to find all the last minute things to pack (hair straightners, shampoo, tooth brush etc etc) before calling a taxi at 8:30am to be at campus before 9:00am. I thought it wouldn't take long, because course is less than a 2 minute drive from my house. I would've walked if I didn't have my large duvet and bag to carry! At five to nine, the taxi finally arrived!!! I was so annoyed, but just smiled to the driver and asked how his morning had been.
I arrived at the campus and loaded my stuff on the bus, and at bang on 9 O'Clock, we were off to Queenstown. First stop was Alexandra. It was a rather long and boring drive, with a few people getting car sick, luckily not me. We arrived in Alex, and picked up some fellow students and were off to Cromwell. We stopped and got our photo taken with the GIANT FRUIT! and then got some food into us. After half an hour we were off to Arrowtown for a short break before going to the Millsbrooke Resort for a look around.
Arrowtown was so cute and little. I fell in love with all the cute little shops on its cute little street hehe. We then went to the Millsbrooke and got the grand tour from a worker. Unfortunately we weren't staying there as it would cost $300 + a night. It was so fancy, it had its own golf course, spa, four restaurants, gym...EVERYTHING! After that we finally made our way to Queenstown (woohoo!).
We arrived at our accommodation (Lakeland Christian Camp...Dorm style accommodation) and settled in before going to get dinner in town.
DAY TWO
I woke up at 7:00am (out of habit) and laid in bed wondering if anybody else would be in the kitchen getting breakfast. When I finally got up half an hour later, there were alot more people than I expected. Sadly for me, I felt like cereal but we only had toast! So it was just a Milo for me! At 9:30am we were all on the bus into town to go do our own activities. Myself, along with half of the other students chose to do the Kawarau Jet Boat.

It was fun, but I thought I had been on better jet boats up in the North Island.
The only good thing, was the hot driver hehehe.
After the hour long boat ride, we had 2 hours to waste in town...rather broing really. My friends and I spent most of the time going into shops (not buying much because everything costs an arm and a leg) and then sitting in starbucks soaking up the sun (out of the cold). We then made our way to the Copthorne Hotel for another "inspection"....There's not much to say about that.
We left the hotel and went to the Skyline Gondola to go Luging, see a haka show and have dinner. The gondola was a little scary for me at first (I have a slight fear of heights) but soon adjusted to it and enjoyed myself. It kind of helped that a girl in the same gondola was more scared than me!!!

Once Again (a little higher) |
Once we were up the top we had our 2 rides on the luge, in my opinion they were fun, but not as good as the ones in Rotorua. Afterwards we went to the Kiwi Haka Show inside. It was so cool, I wanted it to last longer. They did alot of singing and spoke about the culture and made it entertaining. The performers got a heap of us onto the stage to teach us how to use a poi. I was one of the selected few to make a dick of myself!!!
After the show we went back upstairs, and had an AMAZING buffet dinner!!! I had nearly everything there was to offer, and when it came to dessert...OMGOSH!!!!!
On the way down, I tried to get photos of Queenstown at night, but my phone just couldn't do it justice. It was so pretty!
DAY THREE
So today, we packed and left Queenstown (boo hoo) and made the journey back home to Dunedin. We got to Alexandra and a friend from course offered to drive me home in her car instead of sitting on a bus for 4 hours. We took the short way home and got back in 2 hours!
So since there was nothing amazing about today, I'll finish off with some videos and photos!

Check these guys out!!!
Hey people!
Here's some things from the wonderous world of youtube that I have come to like.... click the title and it will take you directly to the site.
ENJOY!
This guy is amazing, he has such a nice voice. This is only one of his songs, to listen to the rest of them, click on them in youtube.
These guys are the equivalent korean verson of Justin Timberlake. They're a group of 13 people, who I now hear have moved down to 10.
Haha possibly the most creative people out there! You will love them, such a good laugh
This song is so cute!!! His voice reminds me of another artist, but I can't quite put my finger on it, can you?

No More Procrastinating!!!!
A few months ago, I set a mission for myself to get healthier and back into shape...however I failed...BIG time.
So last week, my friend Nikole, decided she would join swimming lessons seen as her dream job was to be a flight attendant and it's compulsory for them to know how to swim. So we made the big walk up Stuart Street and got an enrolment form for Moana Pool.
On the way back to course, we walked past my house, and we came up with a genius idea. I would sign up to swimming lessons too, and we would go back to my place after course, have dinner together and then go to swimming lessons!!!
I know how to swim, but only the basics, and I figured that if I do these lessons, I can get fit in the progress and keep swimming during the week, because the lessons also give us a membership of 5 weeks. This means we can go to the pool in our own time whenever we want to.
I'm so excited....bring it on.
Fingers crossed we go through with it right???
